MicroLok Object Controller

The MicroLok Object Controller (MOC) represents a new concept in railway wayside control. With this unit, diverse monitoring, control and remote communication functions are housed in low-cost, compact units that do not require multiple plug-in PCBs for specific applications. Various models of the MOC are available for a broad range of vital or non-vital tasks such as switch machine control/indication, intermediate signal vital logic and data recording. If an MOC unit fails, it can be quickly replaced as a single Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). The unit’s compact design permits installation in a small wayside case or junction box (where other controllers would require a fullsize equipment house).

Much of the hardware and software heritage of the proven MicroLok II system is incorporated in the MOC such as vital I/O operating specifications, continuous internal/external diagnostics, fail-safe circuit design, etc. The MOC incorporates application, communications, event logging and diagnostic software derived from MicroLok II, thus signal designers and maintainers familiar with MicroLok II need not learn a new set of software formats and practices. A Web-based “Maintenance Tools” package is incorporated for ease of maintenance. In addition, the MOC unit offers both TCP/IP and conventional serial link communication options.
